When I visited Bedok South Rd. Food & Market Centre, for the legendary famous char kway teow (it was closed), I saw a curious signboard written "vegetarian chicken rice." What da?!? Too bad it was Monday that I visited this market. As an aficionado of chicken rice, I have yet to try this vegetarian chicken rice. But if you are a vegetarian, do you have this necessary chicken rice crave here and there? It seems rather contradictory. Yes, you're not eating chicken but, hell mind as well eat the real one or nothing at all. Vegetarian foie gras, wagyu beef, etc. For a chef, it would be challenging to make such food but eating mok stuff, what is the point?
ブドッMRTステーションから徒歩１５分のところに、ブドッサウスロード・フード＆マーケットセンターにある伝説のチャークェイティオウを食べようと訪れたが定休日だった。誠に残念だが、このようなシチュエーションには既にもうなれている。ギンモーロードのフードセンターと規模が良く似ているので、各ストールを物色していると、なんと「ベジタリアンチキンライス毎週土曜日販売」という看板を見かけた。チキンライスマニアとしては食してみたいのだが、毎週土曜日のみ。再び残念。しかし、考えてみるとベジタリアンの人はそこまでしてチキンライスを食べないといけないのか？野菜の恵みを食すのに、肉モドキの料理は邪道ではないのか？中国の精進料理にはよく出てくるが、肉モドキ野菜料理って必要なのか？野菜モドキフォアグラ（アボカド？）等。煩悩は捨てきれないのか坊さんたちよ・・・
