What's Cookin' in Our Kitchen: Murtabak

Murtabak is a Muslim Indian snack (I suppose they use the Prata dough in Singapore) with meat and egg stuffing that has been fried on an oiled griddle served with curry gravy like Roti Prata. Not a difficult dish to make if the dough is ready at hand. Now, I've had murtabak in Malaysia as well and wherever there is Indian Muslim baker, murtabak seems to exist -like Indonesia and even Thailand (of course, this dish originally came from India). I do not know how precise wikipedia is but according to the source the origin of the word comes from an Arabic stuffed savory pastry known as mutabbaq. In any case, it is amazing how this food traveled all over Asia with Indian Muslim traders.
