Nice slippery sar hor fun.... be it beef or seafood+pork mix. With much wok hei, the dish is magnificent. I knew Ipoh, Malaysia is famous for sar hor fun. But I did not know that sar hor was a place in Guangzhou, Guangdong. I wonder how many people in Singapore are aware of this... surely I am not the only one. It is quite similar with kway teow but I wonder where the distinciton is.... is it the process when making or is it the thickeness -there are so many variables, it is very hard to tell.
Humble Japanese, trying to de-mystify Singapore cuisine and food culture. This is not a restaurant / stall rating blog.

I just found your blog and am blown away by all the information here! I'm a Eurasian Singaporean living in Tokyo and I must admit you seem to know more about the local cuisine and food culture that I do! Reading about Curry Debal or Devil really made me homesick for some. Can't wait to read more and thanks for the airline food tips :D

Hi Joanne. Thanks for the encouraging comment! Not a lot written about Singapore cuisine which is why I am trying to de-mystify it. I'd appreciate if you could correct me on things if I am wrong. -Shige
